I'm a Colombian born, Jersey raised Cinematographer and Director working primarily in NYC.
Growing up as an undocumented immigrant, my path wasn’t exactly easy. I had to learn early how to navigate life without a manual. Whether it was being my mom’s translator, navigating taxes at a young age, learning what a copay deductible was at 18, or adapting to a new culture. I developed a make it happen mentality that I now bring to every set.
My mom dreamed of me becoming a doctor or a lawyer (the classic immigrant parent wish). I actually started down the Pre-Med and Psychology route, but I couldn’t ignore the pull of the camera. I realized that while doctors save lives, stories save souls. I grew up watching movies to escape hard times; now, I create visuals to help others feel, connect, and react.
In the last three years, I’ve shot commercials for major brands and narrative projects that push the envelope. I love the technical side of lighting and lenses, but I love the community of a film set even more.
